Rules and Regulations
To preserve the properties in accordance with the mission of the Glocester Land Trust and Rhode Island law, please observe the following rules and regulations:
- Carry out what you carry in. As a courtesy, please remove any litter you find during your visit. If you see large amounts of trash or signs of illegal dumping, please notify the GLT , or contact the Glocester Police Department at 401-568-2533.
- Please remain on established trails. If a trail is blocked by debris, such as a fallen tree, please contact the GLT.
- All GLT properties are open to the public daily from dawn to dusk for educational and passive recreational use.
- The Glocester Land Trust is pleased to welcome you and your pet and recognizes that your pet is an important part of your recreation experience. To ensure an enjoyable and safe visit for your pet and park visitors, please familiarize yourself with the following rules and regulations:
• Pets are limited to dogs.
• All pets must be on a leash at a length of not more than 10 feet.
• Electronic leashes are permitted so long as the owner keeps the pet within the 10 feet requirement as stated above.
• All dogs must be wearing a collar with valid license tag.
• The owner is responsible for cleaning up and proper disposal for all animal waste in a proper receptacle.
• Pets shall not be left unattended at any time. - Disturbance of any natural materials - animal, vegetable, or mineral - is prohibited, except with the written permission of the GLT.
- Horses and bicycles are only permitted on designated properties by the GLT. To minimize erosion, please refrain from riding on GLT properties during the spring mud season, or after heavy rain.
- The use of any type of motorized vehicle is prohibited. No ATV's, four-wheelers, dirt bikes or off-road vehicles are allowed on GLT property. Emergency and GLT maintenance vehicles excepted.
- Possession of firearms, paintball guns, or any other weapons are prohibited except by GLT approved properties permitting licensed and authorized persons during hunting season. Hunters must follow Rhode Island Hunting Regulations.
- Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
- Camping is prohibited.
- All fires are prohibited.
- Swimming and bathing is prohibited.
- Sound-broadcasting devices are prohibited.
- Fabricating or placing of structures of any kind is prohibited.
- Motorized boating is prohibited. (specific in Sprague Management Plan)
- No Smoking on GLT property.
- Any activity not specifically provided for in these rules is prohibited.
The regulations stated above are a general list and are not all-inclusive. Each property may have specific activities which are limited or prohibited by its unique management plan or conservation easements.
